Tobachi Kanchi Art Market April 11 in Tishomingo

TISHOMINGO, Okla. - The inaugural Tobachi Kanchi (to buy and to sell) Art Market is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 11 on the grounds of the Chickasaw National Capital and Council House Museum.

The capitol and museum are at the intersection of North Fisher and Eighth Streets in Tishomingo.

The Art Market will feature a nice selection of Indian art for sale. Art at the market is produced by artist citizens of Southeastern and Woodlands tribes.

Everyone is welcome to join the fun, view the artwork and enjoy the entertainment! Admission to the event is free.

Scheduled activities include a youth sidewalk chalk competition at 10:30 a.m. for age categories 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15 with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for each age group. There will also be a bouncy slide for the kids.

A hamburger basket lunch with chips and a drink will be provided.

A moccasin-making class is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
