ADA, Okla. – The official logo of the Chickasaw Warrior Society has been selected by retired and active duty Chickasaws serving in America’s armed forces.

The design features the Chickasaw Warrior – as envisioned by artist Enoch Kelly Haney – against an American flag background. Thousands of Chickasaw warriors cast ballots to decide among three logo proposals.

The Society is one part of several initiatives announced by the Chickasaw Nation to improve the quality of life for Chickasaw veterans.

Gov. Bill Anoatubby pledged expansion of tribal benefits to Chickasaw veterans and an effort to “reach out to our veterans across this country.” He announced the tribe would build a 13,200 square-foot Veterans Lodge on the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center campus in Ada.

“It will be a place for our veterans to gain access and resources that will be available from the Chickasaw Nation in the future. It is an honor for the Chickasaw Nation to construct this lodge for Chickasaw veterans and active duty personnel,” Governor Anoatubby added.
