Two upcoming events to celebrate St. Valentine Day

Love Story Concert and Valentine Card Making Set Feb. 12 in Ada

An evening filled with tales of romance and everlasting love is planned Thursday, Feb. 12, at “Love Stories”- a story concert and Valentine card making event.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m., at the Chickasaw Nation Arts and Humanities Black Box Theater, 201 N. Broadway in Ada. Guests will design and create their own handmade, old-fashioned Valentine.

The story concert begins at 6:30 p.m., and will feature tales about all types of love – from friendship and family to classic stories of romance, shared by traditional Chickasaw storytellers Lorie Robins, Stephanie Scott and Dixie Brewer.

Valentine Celebration, “Dinner and a Movie” Feb. 14 at Chickasaw Cultural Center

Saint Valentine Day, Saturday, Feb. 14, the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur will be commemorating the holiday with card making, heart-warming movies and sweet treats during the annual Valentine Day Celebration.

The family-friendly event features several activities including Valentine-themed crafts and a special stomp dance to commemorate the holiday.

Families can enjoy the free Valentine Day Celebration from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

A special “Dinner and Movie” event will begin at 5 p.m., Feb. 14.  An exceptional Valentine dinner menu will be served and the classic fairytale “The Princess Bride” will be shown.  The cost is $25 per person. Reservations are required and seating is limited.
