Briggs, Alexander, T. Colbert, M. Colbert re-elected; Billy takes Pontotoc seat

Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder has announced results of the 2016 general election.

Incumbent legislators Linda Briggs and Beth Alexander were re-elected to Pickens District Seat 3 and Panola District Seat 1, respectively.

Mrs. Briggs, of Marietta, received 1,592 votes to defeat Michael T. Watson, of Ardmore, and Judy Foster, of Mannsville, who received 436 votes and 316 votes, respectively.

Mrs. Alexander, of Achille, received 582 votes to defeat Clint James Hardison, of Mead, who received 183 votes.

Candidate Lisa J. Billy, of Lindsay, was unchallenged for Pontotoc District Seat 5, where she will fill the seat of retiring legislator Mary Joe Green, of Ada.

Tishomingo District Seat 2 incumbent legislator Timothy K. Colbert, of Sulphur, will retain his seat as no challengers filed for the position.

Supreme Court Seat 1 incumbent Mark H. Colbert, of Ardmore, will retain his seat as no challengers filed for the position.

Elected officials will take the oath of office Monday, Oct. 3.

Seat 1 Beth Alexander, Achille – Incumbent – 582 votes - winner
Seat 1 Clint James Hardison, Mead – 183 votes

Pontotoc District

Seat 5 Lisa J. Billy, Lindsay - no challenger – elected

Tishomingo District

Seat 2 Timothy K. Colbert, Sulphur – Incumbent – no challenger – re-elected

Seat 1 Mark H. Colbert, Ardmore – Incumbent – no challenger – re-elected
